Miracle Berry Growing

Post by Molo » 26 Oct 2019, 08:47

I've been reading journal papers about proper fertilization of miracle berry. I know they are sensitive to fertilizer so I was just giving them worm castings since its gentle and I thought they needed nitrogen to grow big. WRONG! Turns out fertilization with only nitrogen can be deadly for them. Best thing for them is simply to water daily. Then fertilize with a balanced NPK or just PK.

Don't forget the humidity, these things require that.
I lost all 4 of the plants I purchased a few years ago.

Those Santa Ana winds are deadly to them... Greenhouse Required

Once you get one big enough, you can keep in big pot with some shade. I feed my 25 gallon one with acidified rain water and acidic fertilizer like azalea fertilizer. It produces almost year round.
